Northside Elementary School

Garden Project

As a result of the remodeling of Northside Elementary, there is a large outdoor area between the classroom wings of the building.

After remodeling of the school was finished, plans were begun for putting a garden in that location. Several people met to give ideas for the plan. Debra Green of the Greenery drew up the plans.

Through the efforts of  P.T.O. officers, parents, students, and staff, the money was raised to pay for the project.

After much planning and work, the garden is off to a great start. The employees of The Greenery  worked hard to put in walkways, picnic tables, trees, flowers, shrubs as well as garden areas for each grade level. In addition, there is a bridge over a pond.

Students are having picnics on good weather days. All of us are enjoying the new garden area.

Students have begun working in their sections of garden. We look forward to watching the garden spots begin to fill with plants and flowers.
